The Divisions are United States government organizations that were created to study and defend against the supposed threat posed by mutants.

The Divisions were formed after something known as the Lazarus Affair. They were created to deal with what was seen as the new mutant threat. Their goal is to find and prevent any threat that mutants may cause. [1] The Divisions work in conjunction with the other Divisions, as well as other government agencies around the world. [2]
